Family Tree Workshop
Practical guides from Family Tree Workshop: download your research, make a printable tree and keep private family details safe.
What this byline means
These guides are published by Family Tree Workshop, the project behind the tools on this site.
How the guides are prepared
We explain what the tools can do, where their limits are and how to use them. Example families are fictional, and we keep uncertain facts clearly marked. For GEDCOM format details, we link to the official specifications. Each guide shows when it was published and when it was last meaningfully updated.
Dates aren’t refreshed just because the website is rebuilt. We never use your imported family information in our guides or examples.
